Crime scenario is rapidly changing at global level. The latest technology is used by the criminals to commit techno-crimes affecting every common man in the society. Crime is encountered by common man in every walk of life. The Higher and Technical Education Department of Government of Maharashtra is commited to create a world class curriculum in Forensic Science to educate the different class of people of society to counter this global techno-crime scenario.
Different Forensic Science courses are formulated by the highly professional members of the study committee, formed by the Higher and Technical Education Department of Government of Maharashtra to meet the need of the upcoming students, agencies involved in crime detection namely police officers, Forensic Scientists, Medico-legal Doctors, Judicial Officers, media people, journalists, corporate organizations etc. in a scientific and legel way. It is one of the study curricula in forensic science in the country meeting the standerd as per with the global level.
Institute of Forensic Science (IFSc) has started its operation in the premices of Institute of Science,Nagpur. The Institute of Science, "A Center with Potential for Excellence" and "A Jewel in a Crown" is centrally located in the prestigious Civil Lines area of Nagpur. It is recognized as a shining beacon in science education since it's establishment in 1906. The erstwhile Victoria Technical Institute, a symbol of British contemporary architecture of 1926, enjoyed worthy growth and rendered yeoman service to propagating science which was elevated in status and rechristened as the Institute of Science in 1966. The magnificent building has been designated as "Heritage building". An imaginative mix of grandeur and colorful art make for very attractive facility. Lush green surroundings, with long corridors, high roofs, spacious classrooms, well furnished laboratories and an impressive elevation are attributes that lend an aura of class ang refinement.
